Life as a 1 month old

Mommy and Daddy call me "Turtle Head" because I love holding my head up. I still wobble my head quite a bit, but my neck muscles are getting stronger each day. I've also discovered my tongue, and I stick it out like a lizard. It's fun! My eyes are focusing more and more on the world around me, and I can match people's faces with their voices. When I'm in a really good mood, I start coo-ing. Daddy is really good at getting me to talk! This month has been a blast!

Life as a Newborn

From tummy time to relaxing in the baby papasan chair...this is the life! How about that pumpkin suit---Too bad Mommy and Daddy didn't let me go trick or treating. Maybe next year!

Bringing Home Baby!

On Saturday, October 11th, I came home for the first time. I loved my new nursery, and Auntie Christie even put a splash of pink in my nursery for me, thank goodness! I can already spell my name since the wood letters are above my crib. I met Lily, my best doggie friend, and she was really excited to meet me. Daddy brought home one of my shirts a few days ago so Lily could get used to my smell. It must have worked because Lily loves me! Gram Akin came over to help around the house since Mommy was still recovering. She was such a great help during the first week we were home.

Bonding with Loved Ones

I had fun meeting all my family and friends. Everyone was so nice to come visit us in the hospital. I even got new outfits, blankets, and my first bouquet of flowers. All this attention made it feel like it was my birthday! Well, I guess it really was my "birth" day!

Time seemed to stop while we were in the hospital. Our family's focus was on each other---just Mommy, Daddy, and me! We had so much fun getting to know each other. Mommy and Daddy held me all day long in amazement of how much of a miracle I am.

Before I was born...

Mommy was off of work for a few weeks before I was born, so she could rest and keep me healthy. On Monday, October 6th she had a doctor's appointment and the doctor told her that it was time for me to be born. So Mommy and Daddy went right over to the hospital. The doctors induced mommy at 6:00pm. The next morning, Mommy was in labor and got some pain medicine around noon. At 9:00pm the doctors decided to deliver me by c-section. I was born at 10:19pm ...And the rest is history!
